brand & User experience Design

Design leadership inherently overlaps with brand positioning and marketing, and Emily’s expertise in these areas crystallized when she founded Jungle in August 2020. Operating with a streamlined efficient approach, she oversaw every aspect of brand identity, team building, and marketing strategy, scaling Jungle NYC into a multi-million-dollar venture with 400+ products across four revenue channels. This distinctive brand and marketing approach attracted discerning clients, including top global brands and high-profile celebrities.

“Jungle NYC is a lifestyle company that connects people with nature.”

We invite you to experience the beauty, power, and well-being of plants through digital and physical plant stores and full-service design.

ONLINE STORE

Led the end-to-end redesign of Jungle’s website, collaborating with a cross-functional development team on the initial build before transitioning to a no-code Webflow approach for the latest version. Figma and Adobe XD were used for prototyping, user testing, and brand integration, with data-driven insights shaping the final user-centric experience. Tracked user behavior to adapt the homepage based on performance analytics, while overseeing technical integration, performance optimization, and the final launch—resulting in a scalable, visually cohesive platform supporting multi-channel revenue streams.

BRAND IDENTITY

Developed a cohesive brand identity that spanned logo design, color and font standards, business cards, packaging, retail signage, and event collateral—creating a visually consistent experience across physical and digital touchpoints. This distinctive branding attracted top-tier clients and high-profile partnerships (Adidas, Lamborghini, Tiffany’s), positioning the company as a go-to provider for nature-centric design solutions and reinforcing its multi-channel growth strategy.

GROWTH MARKETING TRACTION CHANNELS

  • Ads were used as a primary growth channel, leveraging their scalability and targeting capability. Ads were created and responsively optimized over a 3-year period across Google, Meta, and TikTok platforms with a high avg. ROA.

  • From 2020 to 2023, Jungle NYC participated in many partnerships, both digital and in person. Events promoted brand awareness and allowed the new brand to mature and scale quickly.

Notable partnerships included Adidas (in the brand’s first 6 months), the Hole Art Gallery co-show, and Vogue filming the Jungle NYC store.

    SEE PARTNERSHIPS

  • The companies different sales and marketing channels helped create a buzz around the company, leading to organic growth.

The store on a prominent corner in the hottest neighborhood - Williamsburg BK, was a hub for the culture of the brand, while events, social media, online shopping, and networking reinforced brand awareness.

  • Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and Youtube followings were developed strategically over time for brand-building purposes. Our approach was focused on consistent quality content and organic growth, as opposed to hacked methods that can backfire over time. Instagram became a key way for customers to engage with the brand.

  • Jungle’s website was optimized for search engines with best practice ‘white hat’ methods. This included optimizing and tagging all product and web imagery, keywords, page speed, and mapping.

  • Customer flows (Shopify + Klaviyo) and cold emailing was used to upsell, retain, and generate new leads. Emails were A/B tested and optimized for strategy, content, and open-rate. They were a great way to build community and reinforce brand.

PHYSICAL STORE

Served as a cultural hub for the brand over three years, with a distinctive in-store experience engaging all five senses—music, scent, touch, drinks, and aesthetics. A data- and experiment-driven retail strategy (via door tracking, staff reporting, KPIs) informed digital marketing, merchandising, product pricing, and staff communication. Emily trained and led a store manager, an operations lead, and +5 sales ‘Matchmakers’ while working in a hybrid/remote capacity.

The plants I purchased here have stayed healthy. Their unique array of pots are works of art.

The people working there are fun to chat with about all things plant-related.

OMG! This place is an art gallery of beautiful houseplants. Nothing like it in NYC let alone anywhere else. The store staff was so helpful matching me with a plant.

I love this place. Truly a gem.

SOCIAL PROOF

Implemented an integrated social media strategy, leveraging local influencers on Instagram with nimble spend and trackable ROI, while also building TikTok and YouTube partnership content. Forged paid collaborations at client events (including Tiffany’s, the WSJ Future of Everything Festival, and Belvedere), elevating brand visibility and establishing Jungle as a go-to design partner.
