Interiors & products

With an interior design approach that combines natural elements and atypical fabrication technologies, Emily pairs contrasting textures and influences to create harmonic spaces for working, living, and shopping.

JUNGLE NYC STORE

Emily designed the interior of her company, Jungle NYC’s retail space on a prime corner in the heart of Williamsburg Brooklyn.

The design highlighted both natural and urban characters, with industrial materials like plastic grating used for custom display shelving. The color-changing LED wall was both a merchandising tool and provided the range of light spectrums required for optimal plant growth.

The Jungle NYC store was featured in Vogue for a celebrity visit. It attracted numerous passerby’s over three years of operation and created a lasting brand impression for visitors.

Through Jungle NYC, Emily worked closely with a range of product suppliers, from factories to artisans, to curate, source, and maintain inventory for an active list of 400+ products, available both in store and online.

Inspired by fashion, plant product collections were curated and sourced each season around specific concepts. These launches were then marketed and often sold out.

Product quality and consistency were the foundation of the brand. Through this, Emily has developed a strong understanding of physical products across all phases; from concept and design, to supply chains, transportation, retailing, and marketing to consumers.

Area 2071
Emirates Towers, Dubai

Area 2071 is an innovation ecosystem that brings together talent, government, the private sector, and entrepreneurs to collaborate and create solutions. Emily was on the design team at Bjarke Ingels Group from concept to construction of the coworking space.

Imagined as a set of components that foster innovation, the design features open areas and activation pods for people to make great things come to life. Key contributions include plant pod design and the Gople grow light.

Lamborghini Lounge

The Lamborghini Lounge In Chelsea NYC is a space for the brands’ elite customers to experience the cars and shop in private. Jungle NYC was approached to design and maintain the plants in the showroom, complementing the high-end interiors and customized to allow them to be rolled on wheels for flexibility around the many uses and arrangements of the space.

VIBRANT HEALTH OFFICE

Vibrant Emotional Health’s new office opened in 2023. Spanning 2-floors of a Financial District Building, the office design features different workspace arrangements and social spaces, accented by plants.

Jungle NYC worked closely with the Client and design team to realize their goals for a lush, biophilic workspace that supported the company’s wellness-focus. Through Jungle, Emily oversaw all phases of design, installation, and ongoing maintenance.

GOPLE LAMP
Artemide Lighting

As a designer with Bjarke Ingels Group, Emily worked with BIG’s industrial designer and the prominent Italian lighting company, Artemide, to conceptualize and execute the Gople Lamp.

The lamp was designed around the problem that lighting that fostered plant growth was not attractive for people’s living environments. Using Artemide’s RWB lighting technology, the Gople Light adjusts color temperatures within a range that supports plant health while covering the range of light associated with a healthy human circadian rhythm.

With this concept, the product won Interior Design's Best of Year Award and Wallpaper* Design Award.

TRIANGLE DRESSER

Tasked with creating a dresser for both stacking clothes and small items, Emily designed a custom dresser with both shelves and drawers. The shelves allow items to be naturally stacked, while the drawers allow for easy-viewing of their contents, with wider tops and narrow bottoms.
